Who would have thought that late September would deliver one of the nicest days of the year for a wedding? The sunshine was especially welcome in the wonderful surroundings at Hambleton Hall where Sharon and Nigel celebrated their wedding last Friday. It was a privilege to be able to photograph their day and we are looking forward to showing them their pictures in a couple of weeks. In the meantime here are a few of my favourites.

We were guests rather than the official photographers at Tim and Liz’s wedding last weekend in Bournemouth. It was great to be able to relax and enjoy the company of old friends and the sunshine on what was an uncharacteristically sunny day on the south coast in 2008. When I realised they hadn’t employed a pro photographer I couldn’t resist the chance to take a couple of bride and groom portraits. But the only camera I had with me was the Infra Red 10D and a wide angle lens (in case there was a chance to take some landscapes). So here are a slightly unusual couple of black and white infra red bride and groom pictures. They sum up the relaxed and laid back feel of the day.

And here is a colour infrared shot of Poole Harbour from the reception venue at Shell Bay on the Isle of Purbeck.

Today’s pre-wedding photo shoot was at Rushton Hall in Northamptonshire which might just turn out to be our new favourite wedding venue for photography
Miserable day today which limited the time we spent in the grounds, but there is no lack of brilliant indoor locations there. Here are a few favourites.
Update 11/9: added new photos

This last shot is an infra-red picture taken on a camera specially adapted to be sensitive to infra-red light.
