Wow. It was brilliant to see Catherine again and looking fabulous in her wedding dress. She and Simon got married last February (her wedding pictures are here). For this shoot I teamed up with international hair and makeup artist Toni Perryman (her website is here). Toni created two brilliant looks for Catherine and the weather and Autumn leaves did the rest. More images from this shoot to come, but in the meantime here’s a sampler. Thanks to Catherine for her good humour and being up for it! Thanks to Toni for her talent and creativity.
* I’m trying to come up with a better brand name than “Trash The Dress”. Ideas on a postcard please

Today’s pre-wedding shoot with Sam and Stewart was great fun. In perfect autumn weather we had two shoots in one – a classic natural light location portrait shoot followed by some funky shots lit by flash with a fashion twist. Sam and Stewart were fantastic to work with and happy to let me try a few new ideas. Here are some of the highlights of the day. I know a lot of photographers have started reading this blog so I’ve added a few notes on lighting and technique at the end.

Photographic notes:
Shot 1 Natural light. Top shade. Canon 5D and 70-200mm lens @f/5.6 ISO1600
Shot 2 Natural light backlit under tree canopy. 5D. 70-200 @f/2.8 ISO 1250
Shot 3 Broncolor Mobilite with snoot. Ambient at about -2 stops. f/11. ISO 400. Cross process look added in post production to emphasise colours especially in the old corrugated iron.
Shot 4 Broncolor mobilite with snoot. Sun is the backlight. Ambient at about -2 stops. f/8 ISO 200.
It’s always a priviledge to photograph a new born baby and last weeks shoot with eleven day old Noah and his proud parents Julie and Ozz was no exception. As usual the shoot was done at their home which causes the least disruption to parents and baby. Here are a few favourite pictures.
