Sam and Stewart

Today’s pre-wedding shoot with Sam and Stewart was great fun.  In perfect autumn weather we had two shoots in one – a classic natural light location portrait shoot followed by some funky shots lit by flash with a fashion twist.  Sam and Stewart were fantastic to work with and happy to let me try a few new ideas.  Here are some of the highlights of the day.  I know a lot of photographers have started reading this blog so I’ve added a few notes on lighting and technique at the end.

Photographic notes:

Shot 1 Natural light. Top shade.  Canon 5D and 70-200mm lens @f/5.6  ISO1600
Shot 2 Natural light backlit under tree canopy. 5D. 70-200 @f/2.8 ISO 1250
Shot 3 Broncolor Mobilite with snoot.  Ambient at about -2 stops. f/11. ISO 400. Cross process look added in post production to emphasise colours especially in the old corrugated iron.
Shot 4 Broncolor mobilite with snoot. Sun is the backlight. Ambient at about -2 stops. f/8 ISO 200.
