Charlotte and Simon’s Wedding
Last Saturday we had the privilege of photographing Charlotte and Simon’s wedding at Rushton Hall. Rushton Hall is one of the best places to photograph a wedding, especially when the weather is kind like it was last weekend. Charlotte and Simon were a joy to work with, tolerating some of my crazier ideas and as a result we’ve got some spectacular pictures to show them when they get back from honeymoon in Las Vegas.
I’m featuring two of Karen’s shots to start with – both caught moments. Karen has a great knack of staying unobtrusive while the girls are getting ready. She’s also a terrific calming influence – helping out if things get a little fraught. These are two classic moments. In the first I love mum Sue’s expression in the background as she looks at her beautiful daughter. The second shot sums up the emotional moment when dad Peter saw his daughter as a bride for the first time.

Northamptonshire registrars have recently relaxed their ‘no photography’ rules so we can now photograph the ring exchange and the first kiss. That’s a welcome step in the right direction and allowed us to create this image of the newly weds:

Here’s a classic Martin and Karen bride and groom portrait with a twist: the high angle allowing the water lilies of the boating lake to make an interesting background to this shot. Nearly broke my neck taking this so I’m glad it worked so well:

Detail shot showing the beautiful yet simple table setting:

Charlotte with Maid of Honour Nicola:

First dance. I always try to do something funky with the first dance shots (Karen is capturing the ‘straight’ shots in case mine don’t work out). This one worked well:

Finally one of our signature images – the bride and groom outside the floodlit venue at night. Karen lit the bride and groom while I took the shot.

I hope you enjoyed this photographs. Feel free to leave a comment using the link below.
