Tory and Shane were married in a Catholic ceremony in Weybridge which was followed by a reception at the amazing Great Fosters near Egham. Great Fosters is one of those venues that really needs fabulous weather to be at its best. Luckily we were blessed with warm sunshine all day.

So many pictures that I’d like to share here but we need to keep some surprises for Liv and Nick’s viewing after their honeymoon.  Here’s a sneak preview of a few of my favourites.

As well as her normal detail and reportage shots of the morning preparations  Karen had the privilege of photographing Kay’s traditional morning blessing  ceremony at her home.  I had a slightly less busy morning – hanging out with the guys while they got ready and setting up some cool group shots against the moody sky.

The Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony is a fantastic experience as we were lucky enough to be able to photograph in the church throughout from two angles. Part of Kay and Adam’s ceremony was conducted by an English-speaking priest which made it especially enjoyable.

Unfortunately the heavy skies turned in to rain later in the day though the heavy stuff stayed away until we’d taken a few group shots and everyone was safely in the reception venue.

Kay and Adam are a lovely couple and it we had a great time photographing their wedding.  Luckily for us we knew what to expect because once the party started it didn’t stop! Non stop dancing was the order of the day, including the traditional ‘money dance’.

There was a small panic at the church when the guy’s button holes turned up late.  A couple of minutes before the ceremony I was putting on Nathan and his best man’s buttonholes.  That’s not unusual – but doing it with Sue due to arrive any minute was

Unfortunately St Mary’s is one of the churches that does not allow photography during the ceremony.  But they do allow video.  So I filmed the ceremony on my HD camera and took some stills from the video.  There’s a sample below.

Back at Rushton Hall we had a great time exploring the grounds and the interior of the hall for our signature bride and groom pictures.  Sue and Nathan had fireworks which was another great photo opportunity.

Our day ended with a five-minute photo shoot in the cellar bar.  Added some colourful light to create the shot that ends this set.

We had a fabulous day with Sue and Nathan.  We’d looked forward to their wedding for over eighteen months and it didn’t disappoint.  They’ve chosen a brilliant set of pictures for their album which is going to be quite spectacular.

Shirin and Mark were married last month at Somerford Keynes in Gloucestershire. The church was right next door to The Manor House, Shirin’s parent’s home, which is where the marquee reception was held.  Everything about the day was perfect.  Super people, lovely venues and weather that couldn’t have been better.  We’re thrilled with the pictures we took, and Shirin and Mark have chosen a super set for their album.

Rosanna looked simply stunning in her Ian Stuart gown and James looked pretty dapper too   They’re coming to the studio soon to choose the pictures for the album.  In the meantime here is a sneak preview of a few of my favourites.  As always, Karen was with the girls in the morning, I was with the guys.  We photographed all day, ending with a riverside photograph of Rosanna and James with the floodlit cathedral in the background.  Hope you enjoy them.

We’d been looking forward to photographing at Coltsfoot ever since Claire and Toby booked us at last year’s National Wedding Show.  Coltsfoot is one of our new favourite venues.  It’s self contained, has great accommodation on site, the food is wonderful and the staff helpful and attentive.  There’s plenty of interesting locations for photography.  And because Coltsfoot is in Hertfordshire you benefit from registrars with a relaxed and common-sense approach to photography during the ceremony.

Claire and Toby’s wedding day started off cloudy but the weather got progressively better as the day went on.  Guests were able to relax outside and we could carry on photographing outside even as night fell. With our lighting kit put to good use we got some great images.

As usual the day started with Karen with the girls. This time hair and makeup was done in Hayley Young’s Rouge Salon in Stony Stratford.  Hayley and Steve were wedding clients last year so it was great to catch up with them again.

The guys got ready at Lisa and Mark’s home and were so well organised that we were at the venue in plenty of time for a beer or two.

This wedding was under Northamptonshire’s slightly relaxed 2009 rules for photography so we managed to capture some nice moments during the ceremony.

Lisa and Mark are a lovely couple and we had a great time taking their photographs.  We’re looking forward to seeing them again in a couple of weeks at the studio.

Karen as usual started with the girls. It’s so much better to have a lady photographer photographing the bride’s preparations.  Especially when they can have a mutual Jimmy Choo love-in.  You might notice a JC theme going on here. I’m sure Karen would have taken enough pictures of the shoes to fill the album.  Unfortunately she had to stop to give first aid to Nicky’s mum (another Karen) who had a nasty fall and (as it turned out) broke her foot.  Even that didn’t stop the party – I’m sure we spotted her on the dance floor later hopping about.  Get well soon Karen xx.

As usual I spent the morning with the guys, in this case Martin and his brother Steve, so as with all our albums both sets of preparations will feature.

Another good thing about the day was the weather.  In the sense that we seemed to be in the only dry part of the entire country.  The forecast rain fell all around us, but not on Tewin.  Hurrah.

Anyway enough chat, here’s some pictures.  This is a small subset of the 300 or so images that we’ll be showing Nicky and Martin later this week.  Can’t wait.

The happy couple after the wedding.  All Saint’s has a strict no photography policy that applies from the moment the bride enters the church with her father until the signing of the register.  Worth bearing in mind if you are planning a wedding there and you’re hoping for photographs of the ceremony.
